The Power of Ritual

At the first of the month, I wrote a post for the Generous Husband with the same title – The Power of Ritual.

I think women get the power of ritual better than men. Maybe it fits your brains more naturally, maybe you just see the bigger picture better. Whatever the reason, odds are you can help your husband and your family by fostering rituals, traditions, and habits.

Traditions help us relate to others. Rituals help us feel calm, safe, and connected. Couple habits like taking a walk, playing cards, or sharing a cup of tea or coffee can make a significant difference in a marriage. Traditions such as family game night or decorating the Christmas tree together are good for kids and adults alike.

This is a good time of year to create rituals. Give it some thought and make an effort. Involve the kids in the process, and your husband if he’s willing.

~ Paul – I’m XY, and playing cards with my lady after dinner is one of my favourite rituals.

Hi. I have a question about the links to shopping. Do I have to go through your links everytime I shop online in order for you to get money or hopefully it is a one-time thing?
