As an empty nester who works from home, this is our norm. We don’t manage it every day, but it happens several times a week. If you have kids and/or either of you works a “normal job” you might think this is a nice but impossible dream.

The reality is we make time for the things we value. Or, perhaps I should say we make time for the things we think we should value. All too often we demote the value of something because we think others wouldn’t see it as valuable, or we think we’re supposed to be doing other things.

One of the great things about getting older is you stop worrying about what “they” think you should do or enjoy and start doing what you want. If you enjoy it, it’s not silly or a waste of time, it’s a wise way to use your time. We always have to work for a balance of work and “play”, but the right balance point probably is not what “they” think.

What would you really like to make time for in your life  and in your marriage? Discuss it with hubby and go for it!
