The Sermon on the Amount
Many years ago I attended a marriage weekend. The last day they did “The sermon on the amount”, in which they told us what we had paid to attend covered only the cost of the hotel and meals. They encouraged us to give when the plate was passed so they could do the seminar for other couples.
Today I’m doing the same thing, more or less.
You can read what Lori and I do without any cost other than your Internet connection. That’s how it’s always been, and that’s how it will always be. But there are costs. We receive money from individuals and a couple of grants that cover our hard costs. In addition to that, Lori and I raise our own support so we have the time to do what we do. A couple of churches and a number of couples keep us going.
Which brings me to the reason for this post. Year-end giving accounts for a significant part of our income. This year we are looking for $10,000, the same amount we have raised the last two years.
