I was talking to a male friend at church about Lori and I thinking we would flee the state after Christmas to avoid the worse of winter. He said, “I like winter because I’ve always had the tools to fight winter.”

I’ve always had the tools to fight winter. That is a very male thing to say. It’s man against nature, winner takes all. Being able to beat winter makes him feel manly, and so he likes winter.

I’ve never heard a woman say something along these lines about anything, and I don’t expect to in the near future.
