So a week ago I went and had a stroke. I’ve written about it over on TGH, if you care; the short version is I’m fine, Thank You, God!
I was smart enough to go for help early and to keep seeking answers when I was told I was okay. Unfortunately, I’d been putting off a physical and that might well have avoided me this little problem.

Many men, I’d say most, are bad about getting routine medical screening and care. We figure most things can be resolved with duct tape or rubbing dirt in it and we just don’t have time to waste seeing a doctor when we’re fine.
If your husband is 30 and in good shape, not seeing a doctor is probably not a big deal. If he’s out of shape, or 50+, he really needs a yearly check-up. However, nagging and complaining by you won’t get him into the doctor. Threats might, but that’s pretty rough. My suggestion is you bribe him!
Maybe you tell him you will go to dinner and a movie, both his choice, after his check-up. Perhaps you agree to go to a sporting event with him. Or maybe annual check-up and BJ day should be a thing! Aside from the incentive, I think a bribe shows him you care way more than nagging does.
Yes, he should go on his own. But if he won’t, please do something to encourage him to go. You will both benefit.
