This is another Female Brain ≠Male Brain post.

A study found that when men are stressed, their ability to read faces decrease. When women are stressed, face reading ability increases. One article reporting this said, “the male gender is wired to shut down during arguments“. That goes well beyond the findings of the study, but there may be a hint of truth in it. If he is less able to read your face when the two of you are fighting, that puts him at a disadvantage and increases his odds of making a mess of things. And if that happens often, he may shut down just to avoid the trouble.
