At some point in life, most men become aware that women don’t have a refractory period and can have multiple orgasms. This causes a great deal of awe, no small bit of jealousy, and makes me think most men have the reverse of penis envy.

Unfortunately, most men don’t get a good explanation of what this means in real life. In part, this is because a great many men (mis)learn this bit of information from porn. Whatever the reason, plenty of men think, “All women can have endless orgasms if they would just stop being so uptight about sex.” Apart from this being false, it causes a woman problems if her husband believes this.

If you’ve never had multiple orgasms, you probably could. But that does not mean you should. If you’re fine with one, more power to you. Lori and I have talked to women who can do several who would rather stop at one most of the time. Being pushed to have another orgasm when you’re done may not be the worst thing in the world, but it seems rude to me.

Of course, being a guy, I get it. If one is great, ten is way better. And just because I can’t do it doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy helping you do it. Part of that is love, and part of it is living vicariously. There’s nothing wrong with “I want my wife to have more orgasms.” However, there is something wrong with “I want my wife to have more orgasms than she whats to have.” The first is loving, the second is controlling and is putting his kicks ahead of her.

If hubby has ever pushed you to come again, I hope this explains it and gives you a foundation for talking about it. If you would like to try for more but worry he will get carried away (and he probably will) then set some ground rules. Tell him when you feel you might be able to have more easily you will let him know by saying, “Keep going“. Then get him to agree that when you way “I’m done” he will IMMEDIATELY stop. Even if you’re still at one.
