How Being Out Of Work Affects A Man

When men meet each other, they almost always indicate what they do for a living. “I’m Joe, and I’m a programmer for...” or “I’m Ted, I’m a farmer.” We do this because what we do tends to define us in our own minds. In fact, most guys define themselves way too much by their employment.

Because of this, being out of work can be very hard for a man. Even if he is laid off because of a pandemic and even if there is enough money, the fact that he is no longer working can be depressing.

If the coronavirus mess has put your husband off the job, please be aware it may hit him hard. One way to help is to suggest some projects he could do around the home. Being productive will make him feel better.
