Our son has chickens and I’ve been feeding them.

We had a hen who was being pecked by another. It was getting bad. Then the bully hen died – probably old age, no foul play (sorry!) detected.

So now life is good for the formerly pecked hen, right? But it’s not. She’s so used to being picked on that when any other hen get near her, she runs across the yard flapping and screaming all the way. She even does this with the new birds who are half her size. 

People do this too and it can be a major problem in marriages. Are you reacting to your husband based on something that happened to you before you even met him? It’s understandable, but it’s not fair to hubby. He won’t understand it and he can’t do anything about it since he’s not the one pecking you!
