I know a lot of women would really like to do Bible study as a couple.

I think I’ve discussed the fact that some men see spiritual matters as very private, which can be a block to doing a study with their wife. Then, of course, there’s the fact he’s just too stinkin’ busy.

So try this. “Honey, I’ve been reading First John and the second chapter really jumped out at me. I’d really like to know what you think about it.” If he grabs a Bible then and there, great. If not, write the verse(s) down on a sticky and ask him to read it and tell you what he thinks later.

This works because it taps into his need to solve things and his desire for you to respect his opinion. If you do this from time to time, it might start something more. If not, at least it opens the door.
