Shave My What?

I ran a search and found it’s been four years since I mentioned pubic hair. Given that a lot of men want their wife to have little or no hair down there, it’s worth a few words.

Some women have been removing much or all of their pubic hair since before they met hubby. Others are willing to give it a try. Some want nothing to do with it and some are offended or upset by the suggestion. If a husband can respect those last two, no problem. If he can’t, this can become a point of contention.

Towel, razor, shaving brush, and a pair of panties

I’m not going to tell you if you should or shouldn’t do this. It’s a very personal choice, it takes regular effort, and some women just don’t feel right about it or don’t like how it looks or feels. I’m all for doing something like this for hubby because you love him*, but you can love him and not be willing to go bare, and that should be respected.

This post is tagged with “How He Thinks” and that’s want I want to address here. First I want to deal with “He only wants it because he saw it in porn.” If a guy is under 50, then virtually all the porn he has seen had little or no hair, so yeah, he’s seen it in porn. But I stopped looking at porn when all the women had all their pubic hair and when I heard this was a thing, I was all for it. I think most men would want their wife to try it even if they had never seen a picture of it.

The other thing I still hear is it makes a woman look like a little girl and guys who want it might be edging on pedophilia. I have no idea who started this one, but it had to be a woman who never changed a baby girl’s diaper. Puberty changes a woman’s body significantly and pubic hair is not the only visual change to the vulva.

So if it’s not either of those, why is this a big deal to so many men? A few reasons:

  • If you do it for him, then you’re doing it for him. And that’s a big deal to him.
  • Hair obscures your vulva, which he thinks is one of the most beautiful things God created. Looking at your vulva with pubic hair is like trying to enjoy a sunset through sheer curtains.
  • It feels daring and anything you do that feels sexually daring is good with him.
  • It’s a little sexy secret he shares with you.
  • Doing oral on a nude vulva is a lot more fun.

Bottom Line: He’s not a pervert, he’s a normal guy.

* If you do decide to give it a try, tell him upfront it’s an experiment and you don’t want any grief if you decide you don’t like it.
