On my TGH Being Authentic About Sex post, a woman said this in the comments:

“I feel like most men claim to want a crazy sexual wife but the reality is, they are just saying that to seem cool and manly, they can’t actually handle a woman like that.“

I think some men, maybe most men, are afraid they could not keep up with or satisfy a woman who was full out about her sexuality. But this is mostly because men do the math wrong. We understand a woman has no real limit sexually. We might be able to have sex once or twice daily, or maybe three or four times on occasion, but there is a limit. In theory, a woman can have sex a dozen times a day and still want more. Of course, the critical part of that is “in theory”. But some men don’t get that part.

We also tend to miss the reality that women generally want sex as part of a relationship. I’ve seen and heard men say if you don’t satisfy your wife she will get it from someone else. (In fact, some fellow suggested that in the comments here recently!) Most men don’t understand that women usually cheat for emotional connection and relationship, not for sex. 

So yeah, most guys dream of their wife wanting it all the time, but they don’t really want that. And some men are so worried about it they do things to suppress their wife’s sexuality.
