A recent comment from one of you said “Surely a decent guy would notice his wife seems unhappy and common decency would kick in, wouldn’t it?“

It’s a great example of men and women not functioning the same way, so I’m making a post out of it.

Three things came to my mind when I saw this:

1. Less of our brains than your brains are devoted to relationship stuff. That means we are less likely to “notice” something is wrong. He can’t apply decent to something he doesn’t see.
2. I know all of your girlfriends would see it without you saying anything. That would be because they are your GIRLfriends.
3. If we ask how things are and don’t get a really clear cry for help, we assume things are okay. Hints are right up there with a screendoor on a submarine.

That said, men should work at learning to notice things. I nagged the men on TGH about this yesterday.
