When He Is Different

So your husband is being different. Less loving or kind, not as attentive, maybe grumpy.

Man showing various feelings

Before you get upset or say anything, try to figure out why he is different. Is he stressed or tired? Is work getting to him? Is he worried about money? Because men are not always good about sharing their fears and feelings, you may have to work at it more than you would with one of your girlfriends. But it’s worth it. If you can’t decipher it, ask. Say “You’ve been unusually _____ and I wondered why.”

Of course, a “good reason” for his being different does not excuse rudeness or falling short, but it does call for grace and understanding.
