I have come to the conclusion that denying reality doesn’t change it. Likewise, arguing it should not be the way it is doesn’t help either. Denying or arguing with reality only reduce your chances of dealing with it.

I bring this up because when I talk about some way men commonly act or think, I often hear that they should not be that way. (And I get the same from men when I talk about some way women commonly act or think.) Sometimes what is being complained about is wrong. Other times it’s rooted in the fact that God made men and women different. But regardless of why whatever is common, the reality is that it’s common.
As an example of wrong, the sad reality is most men view porn. This is wrong, but it’s the reality of our world. Making a lot of noise about how it should not be this way is just wasting time and energy.
With things that are wrong, wishing things were different won’t help. It’s far better to try to understand why it’s the way it is. Then work on how the situation can be changed or the harm mitigated. It’s also wise to do whatever you should to protect yourself if that’s a consideration. (Physically, yes, but more often emotionally.)
As a “Blame God” issue, consider that God made your hubby’s brain different from your brain and odds are he is less romantic and less about sharing emotions. This is not wrong. Your husband may use it as an excuse to not do things he should do, but the root issue is not wrong. If you accept the reality, you can then tell him you know whatever is less important to him and then ask him to stretch for you. When it comes to doing something that does not come naturally, he is far more likely to respond to you asking him to make an effort than you telling him he should be a way he knows he is not.
