365 Days From Today…

A good way to consider marital issues is to think about how you will feel about the issue a year from now.

Calendar showing months flying by

It seems like a big deal now, but will this even matter in a year? Will what you’re saying today seem petty or selfish to you a year down the road? Will it still look like a hill you would be willing to die on?

And what will hubby think about this in fifty-two weeks? Will he see the stand you took as good or bad? Will he see it as leading to a better relationship or a worse one? Will there be any resentment? Will he be less loving or less engaged because of what you said or did?

If you consider all of those things, it will likely change what you choose to do about some issues. And if it doesn’t change how you see it, then you can be more sure of your choices.
