I have a confession: I hate washing silverware. Plates, glasses, and greasy pans with stuck-on food are fine, but for some reason, silverware is not. My son is the same way and I’ve heard other men say they are too. I’m not suggesting this is a “guy thing” but most of us, both male and female, have jobs we really dislike.

When it really needs to be done, I’ll do it. Or at least enough for the next meal. But much of the time I do everything else and leave the silverware soaking. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!)
Now here’s the thing: my wife doesn’t complain about this. A very occasional tease, but nothing more. If she felt it was unfair, I’d do the silverware. And I wouldn’t complain about it. However, her grace in this little area blesses me a great deal. It’s a silly little thing, but it makes me feel loved, valued, and special.
Is there something like this with your husband that you could use to show him generosity?
