I think many wives underestimate the power of their opinions to influence their husbands.

Yes I know he pretends to ignore you, argues with your opinion, or seems to dismiss what you say out of hand. Part of that is how men deal with each other, part is from pride, and for some men, there is some concern about being whipped. But I hear men talking and I know their wife’s words do have an impact on their thinking. The result may not be what you want, sometimes men do things just to prove they are their own person not controlled by their wives.

If you realise what you say matters, then you can be wiser about what you say. You can also choose to be quick to agree or support him when you do, which will improve the odds he will consider what you say when you don’t agree. And you can choose to remind silent on some minor things so you don’t seem to be disagreeing with him all the time.
