How Men Are, According To Women

Most of the folks blogging and podcasting about marriage have their gonads on the inside. I’ve actually met many of these women and most of them are great people with a lot of wisdom to share. However, they’re not men and occasionally they say something about men that can only be called womansplaining.

Back when I regularly commented on other blogs, I tried to gently suggest something different a few times when this happened. That always got me a slew of women telling me I was wrong – about how men think and feel.

This is sort of the high tech version of a bunch of men sitting around a campfire telling each other how women are, why they are that way, and then telling the one woman present she doesn’t have a clue about such things when she tries to speak up.

My point here is men and women are not the same and sometimes we don’t understand each other because of that. Some folks have learned the truth about the opposite sex in many areas, some not so much. An echo chamber may make the speaker and audience feel what is being said is right, but echo chambers never prove anything.

Practically speaking, if your husband says something about himself or men in general that differs with what your girlfriends or a blogger have said, you need to give his “opinion” much greater weight.
