My wonderful wife Lori blogs as The Generous Wife. Some of you read both this blog and her blog, some read only one. This makes sense since we say different things and approach issues differently. She is far more gentle than I am and some folks want or need that. Others can handle or even want something blunter such as what I do here.

Getting help for your marriage, be it a crisis or a desire to improve an already good thing is very personal. A good counsellor or therapist will want you to have one appointment with them so you can decide if they’re a good fit. Their skill is worthless to you if you don’t connect with them and feel comfortable. Trust is a must and personality types mean you won’t be able to do that with every quality third party out there.
There’s also the issue of being stretched too far or too fast. Some folks are all about changing things ASAP, go as fast as possible. Others can’t do that and will end up worse off than when they started if they try.
This, BTW, is why Lori and I share links to other blogs most days. There are a lot of great resources out there and we want you to find the best ones for you and your marriage. I have minor differences with most of the blogs I share, but nothing worth talking about. We’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of these folks in person and we know their heart is for marriage.
We are blessed to live in a time with many great marriage resources, so dig in!
