Imagine this. Dinner is over and your husband says “Go sit on the deck while I do the dishes.” A bit later, as the sun is setting, he comes out with a tray. On the tray are your favourite beverage and an amazing-looking dessert. He snuggles up to you and tells you how much he loves you as you enjoy the colours of the sky and the flavours of the dessert.
For men, sex is a lot like that. It pushes all the buttons and makes him feel wonderful and loved. Yes, it’s really that big a deal to him. It’s why he wants it “all the time“.

If he has to ask for it, that’s not as fantastic, but still great. If he has to ask and knows he will be told no much of the time, that’s not great. And if asking only gets him a flat soda and a twinkie, he feels empty and unloved.
You can argue my analogy is imperfect. I agree, but probably not the way you mean it. I’m putting it out there. You can accept it and apply it as you think you should to your husband and marriage, or you can deny it and keep going as you have been. Kind of like the same choice your husband has when I suggest he do what I said at the top of this post.
Of course, if you already get it, this post doesn’t apply to you, and thumbs up to you!
~ Paul – I’m XY, and last evening as we sat outside, I served Lori homemade vanilla ice cream with a compote made with raspberries from our garden.
