If your husband cares about you, he cares about what you think about him; even if he doesn’t show you that.

Generally, that’s a good thing, but it can lead to problems.

If he believes you’re thinking poorly of him or are disappointed with him, that can make him defensive. And that’s going to happen even if he is wrong about what you think.

I’m not suggesting you lie or hide the truth to keep him happy, but be aware that criticising him may generate some negative feelings on his part. The Bible tells us to speak the truth in love and that’s a really good idea here. 

The other side of this is to avoid saying or doing things that may cause him to worry you’re thinking badly of him when you’re not. Don’t let his imagination cause problems!
