Forgiving, Sure. What About Apologising?

One of ChatGTP’s article topic suggestions for making a heterosexual woman a better wife was “The Role of Forgiveness in a Successful Marriage”. That’s fine, but when I asked ChatGPT about men, it didn’t say anything about forgiving. It did suggest “The Art of Apologizing: Why Saying Sorry Matters and How to Do It Right”.

So apparently AI thinks men need to learn to apologise, and women need to learn to forgive. Sounds kind of stereotypical to me!

There are those who suggest men should apologise any time their wife is upset – even if they have no idea why or don’t think they did anything wrong. I’m not a fan of that, as it does not build a good marriage. If you think your hubby might be doing this, have a discussion about it.

Of course, men are not the only ones who blow it. A wife should be just as quick as her husband to offer a sincere apology when she hurts or wrongs him.

As for forgiving, yes, please do. Of course, that doesn’t mean there are no consequences. There are times when apology and forgiveness are just the start of a long healing process. But without those things, the marriage is stuck.
