We all have an internal dialogue. It’s what we tell ourselves about the world around us. It’s our opinion of who we are, and who others are. And being that it’s our opinion, it may or may not have anything to do with reality. Even worse, our self talk shapes our view of reality. And sometimes our self talk warps our view of reality.

What you tell yourself about your husband affects how you feel about him. And that impacts how you treat him. What you tell yourself about your marriage determines how much you’re willing to work on making your marriage better.
I realise your marriage isn’t perfect, and your husband certainly isn’t. But is your self talk more negative than it should be? Are you giving him the proper benefit of the doubt? Do you factor in that he’s good willed yet imperfect? Do you factor in that you’re also imperfect?
My suggestion is to ask God how you should view your husband and your marriage. How would He have you see the man He gave you?
~ Paul – I’m XY, and if you change your self talk, amazing things can happen.
