I had an email asking me to give some suggestions for doing hand jobs to help folks celebrate National Hand Job Day this Sunday, July 21^st. Two concerns mentioned were the mess, and sore arms.

The mess is pretty easy to deal with if you plan for it. Have a clean-up cloth ready. Tissues are easy but not great. A handkerchief works well. If you want to use and toss, baby wipes are good. If he’s on his back, aim his penis just slightly towards his head when he ejaculates. This will land the semen on his belly. Wipe your hands, his penis, then his belly, and you’re done.

Sore arms are about position and effort. Sit so your arm is in a good position, adding pillows as needed. If your upper arms get sore, find a way to move from the elbow or wrist. Experiment with various positions. When he’s on his back, you can sit beside him or between his legs, or lie beside him. Or have him on his side with you behind him. 

Focus on the head of his penis. Long strokes are nice, but most of your movement is doing little to get him over the top. A firmer touch provides stronger simulation. Being in a hurry can make it worse for you. Stimulation builds as he gets more aroused. Use a slower pace till he’s getting close, then speed up to finish him.

A lube will make it feel better for him, and thus faster for you. Silicone is great as it doesn’t dry out, but it can stain cloth. Water based lubes work, but need to be reapplied more often. If this is just for him and his penis won’t be anywhere near your vagina, baby oil is a good choice.

A great way to speed things up, save your arms, and make it better for him, is to use a sleeve. If you don’t use a disposable one, there is clean up. But that’s on him, right?
