I saw a survey of 500 women asking them the best position for them to have an orgasm. Just over a third said cowgirl, aka woman on top. About a quarter went with each missionary and doggie, aka rear entry. I’ve seen a number of surveys on this, and this one gave the same results as most of the rest.

What is never asked is if these women are climaxing from just intercourse, or have some added stimulation to get them there. It would be nice to have those details.

Missionary and cowgirl give the best clitoral stimulation possible. Cowgirl has the added advantage of giving the woman control, which is no doubt why it’s always the top choice. Rear entry may work for women who climax from G-spot stimulation; it’s not doing much for the clitoris.

Rear entry also makes it easy for the woman to stimulate herself, and I suspect that is one reason it rates so high. The other two don’t make self stimulation as easy. But they do work well with a small vibe slipped between the couple’s bodies.

If intercourse isn’t getting you to orgasm, try something new. Even if you don’t climax from intercourse, you might find another position more comfortable or more enjoyable.
